About ArubaRates

ArubaRates is an independent travel guide to Aruba, written on the island. It started with a simple idea: give visitors the kind of advice you’d get from a local friend, with real prices, the official rules and the places Arubans actually go.

Who writes ArubaRates

Gino Croes is an Aruban who lives on the island and runs ArubaRates.com. He started ArubaRates to give visitors the advice he’d give a visiting friend in real life: real prices, official rules, and the places locals actually go. He speaks Papiamento, Dutch, English and Spanish, and checks prices against official sources before each update.

How we research and check our guides

  • Official sources first. Fees, entry rules and fares come from the source that sets them, such as the official ED Card site, the government taxi fares at taxi.aw, Arubus and the Aruba Conservation Foundation. We link to them so you can check for yourself.
  • Dated prices. Prices change. Each guide says when its figures were last checked, and we update the main guides when fares, fees or rules change.
  • Local knowledge. Recommendations for beaches, fishing spots and restaurants come from living here, not from booking sites.
  • Independent. ArubaRates doesn’t sell tours, rooms or tickets. The site is funded by Google ads.

Found something out of date?

Aruba changes quickly, and readers help us keep up. If a price has changed, a place has closed or a rule is different from what we wrote, please let us know. We check every correction and update the guide.
