Aruba taxi fares in 2026
Aruba introduced a new official taxi pricelist on 20 May 2026, the first revision since 2018. Taxis have no meters: fares are fixed by zone and published by the government at taxi.aw, and every licensed taxi must show a QR code linking to it. Fares are per vehicle for up to four passengers.

Taxi fares from Aruba airport to every hotel
Official one-way fares from Queen Beatrix International Airport to each hotel on the taxi.aw price list, for up to four passengers. The fare is the same in the other direction. Add $3 for each extra suitcase, $3 for each passenger beyond four, and $5 on Sundays, public holidays, between 11 PM and 7 AM, and from 24 December to 1 January.

Bus and rental car costs
The Arubus public bus costs $2.60 per ride, $5 for a Retour Card covering two rides, or $15 for an unlimited day pass, and runs along the hotel strip from Oranjestad to Eagle Beach, Palm Beach and Arashi from early morning until about 11:30 PM. Suitcases are not allowed, so it doesn’t work for airport transfers. Rental cars run from about $45 to $90 a day for an economy or compact car, more in high season (mid-December to mid-April), and you need one, or a 4×4 for the Natural Pool, to reach Arikok National Park and the north coast. Is there Uber in Aruba?
No. Uber, Lyft and other rideshare apps don’t operate in Aruba. Taxis use fixed government fares instead.
What’s the cheapest way to get around Aruba?
The Arubus bus along the hotel strip: $2.60 a ride, $5 for a Retour Card (two rides) or $15 for an unlimited day pass. Most visitors combine it with a taxi from the airport and a rental car for one or two days.
